A nitrogen-fixing actinobacterial genus Frankia establishes root-nodule symbiosis with actinorhizal plants comprising more than 200 species in eight dicotyledonous families. This beneficial symbiosis enables the plants to grow in infertile soils and contributes to revegetation of devastated lands.
The International Meeting on Frankia and Actinorhizal Plants has been held about every two years since 1978 and discusses about various aspects (ecology, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, omics approach, etc.) of the symbiosis with researchers gathering from all over the world.
Because of the worldwide coronavirus outbreak, the 20th meeting is held ONLINE via internet,
from 2021/5/29 (Sat) to 2020/5/31 (Mon).
We hope many of you will participate in this meeting.
